Students should have to enter a personal pin, like their lunch number, to start and end passes.
While my students are in the restroom, their classmates from anywhere in the building think it is hilarious to end their passes from kiosks. So, when a staff member sees a student in the hall, and the student doesn’t have a pass, a conflict emerges; “why don’t you have a pass?” Trust is questioned and broken.
If students have to use their lunch i.d., this would not happen and there would be no doubt whether students are briong honest or not.
