I understand that currently, staff cannot refuse a pass written by a teacher for a student. When a teacher creates a pass for a student to certain locations (nurse, counselor, other staff, etc.) that nurse/staff person should be able to choose acceptance of all passes or have the choice to approve/deny/reschedule that student’s pass. It is very frustrating to have a student show up when the receipient is busy and unaware the student is on the way. We do not have time to check SmartPass at every moment. We have 200 teachers and they need SmartPass to be a time saver, not an additional layer to student movement. (i.e., telling us that the teacher needs to call the receipient in advance to tell them they are sending a student down, is not a time saver.)
